Welcome to the School of Biblical Studies! The latest church surveys indicate that only half of all protestant ministers, and less than a quarter of protestant church-goers, have a biblical worldview. The School of Biblical Studies exists to train students to become biblically literate servant-leaders for the church of Jesus Christ. The world desperately needs biblically-minded men and women who are seeking God Himself, and are trained to live and teach God’s Word.
While all PBU undergraduates are Bible majors, some students choose the Biblical Studies, Bible Ministries, or Biblical Foundations programs, because these programs meet specialized needs. PBU offers all students 51 hours of Bible and doctrine (more than most Bible colleges and nearly twice the requirements of most Christian liberal arts colleges). Ministering to all PBU students, the School of Biblical Studies seeks to enable them to become leaders who “handle accurately the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). We invite you to become a part of those who are preparing to be those leaders for the next generation of the church!
The Biblical Studies program provides students with a B.S. in Bible, while allowing the greatest flexibility with elective courses. Biblical Studies students may pursue related areas of interest in preparation for educational plans not provided in the professional departments at PBU. The Bible Ministries program is designed for students who, after beginning in one field of study, change their educational pursuits. Bible Ministries students may bring an Associates degree, or its equivalent (64 hours of accredited college courses), to PBU as a block credit transfer. The student then receives a B.S. in Bible by completing this two year program of 51 hours of Bible and Doctrine and 12 hours of professional studies. The Biblical Foundations program provides a certificate for 1 year of Bible and Doctrine courses for the student who wishes to add this training to another career track.
If you have a heart for God’s Word and work, please come and check out PBU. If you have questions, or would like to schedule a visit, please contact us.
Yours in Christ,
